  3. Choose Yes to allow the following product updates will be installed:
  4. Choose (when it pops up) to allow the SMART Notebook from SMART Inc to makes changes to your computer.
  5. Wait for the downloading to start and being installing
  6. Choose the Installer software in the task bar
  7. Check the box for “I have read and accept the terms of use” after you have read the terms of use
  8. Choose NEXT
  9. Wait for the installtion to complete
  10. Choose Finish when the install completes
  11. Wait and SMART product update will verify that the software installation is complete
  12. Wait for SMART Product Updating software to run again and share that your software is up-to-date
  13. Exit all updates and other software.

  1. Close all open applications
  2. Open your web browser to www.smarttech.com/software
  3. Scroll and find SMART Notebook collaborative learning software
  4. Select Download
  5. Provide the license key (please contact Tech Department for detail)
  6. Select SMART Notebook 16.1
  7. Confirm your operating system, select Windows
  8. Select USB Installer
  9. Select Download
  10. If prompted, download the file to your downloads folder, select Save.
  11. The file is fairly large and could take up to 10 minutes or more to download over slower connections.

10 Minutes

  1. Close all open applications
  2. Open your Downloads folder
  3. Scroll to find the file named, “smart16-1-usb.exe”
  4. Double-click to launch the installer software
  5. The Education Software 2016 window will open, uncheck the option to Check for newer versions of the software before installing, select Next
  6. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, select Next
  7. Select Next
  8. Check all four options for SMART Notebook, Response, Product Drivers, and Ink; select Next
  9. Check both options for SMART System Menu and SMART Response Desktop Menu; select Next
  10. Uncheck Make SMART ink Document Viewer the default PDF viewer, select Next
  11. Uncheck Enable the Customer Experience Program on all devices, select Next
  12. Check Lesson Activity Toolkit and all options for the Gallery Essentials, select Next
  13. Select any additional languages, select Next
  14. Select Install. Depending on the speed of your computer, this process takes 5-10 minutes.
  15. When the installation completes, you will be prompted to Activate your software, select Finish.

5 Minutes

  1. The SMART Software Activation window will open, select Add
  2. Type the Product Key (please contact Tech Department for detail) select Add
  3. Check I accept the terms in the license agreement, select Next
  4. Check Submit request automatically (recommended), select Next

Smart Notebook License Key

    1. From the desktop, double-click the SMART Notebook 16 icon
    2. SMART Notebook will launch and open the Tutorial for SMART Notebook 16.1 file.
